FARM House wins in Home of the Year

FARM House has won the Multi-Unit Home of the Year for 2021.

In Aotearoa/New Zealand we must use our existing urban areas more sustainably. Gentle density is one approach  – where we design houses that are similar in scale and character to traditional family homes, but for more than one household. In this way the impact of increased density is minimal. It builds upon existing infrastructure and is one solution to the housing affordability dilemma.

The FARM house is multi-generational co-housing and provides two homes within the footprint of one. The homes are independent of each other, but have some shared facilities.
